MARGARET TATE
Mrs. Margaret Tate was born in San Francisco, Calif.,
on October 27, 1881. With her parents, Micheal and Bridget Hoctor she moved
to Goldendale in 1884. On May 28 she was married to Reverdy Lee Tate at The
Dalles, Ore. To this union five children were born.
The family moved to Sunnyside in 1927 and Mrs. Tate made
her home at Sunnyside until she passed away on November 24 after an illness
of three weeks. She was 80 years and 27 days of age.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Owen Jackson
of Sunnyside, Mrs. Gladys Matheson of Grandview, Mrs. Stanley Stern of
Ellensburg; eight grandchildren; one brother, Joseph A. Hoctor of Phoenix,
Ariz., and numerous nieces and nephews, including Mrs. E.V. Wolfe and Harold
Watson, both of Sunnyside.
Mrs. Tate's husband and two sons, Edward and Cecil, preceded
her in death.
Requiem Mass was offered in St. Joseph Catholic Church
at Sunnyside, November 28 at 10 a.m., Rev. John O'Shea officiating. Pallbearers
were William Nelson, Bob Stamschror, Russell Mann, John Greenhalgh, Roy Morrow
and Frank Filicetti.
Burial was in the Catholic Cemetery at Goldendale, with
Father Duffy officiating at the graveside. Mrs. Tate's grand-nephews acted
as a pallbearers.
Walter C. Ball & Son Funeral Home of Sunnyside, was
in charge of arrangements.

MARGARET TATE SUCCUMBS TO LONG ILLNESS
Mrs. Margaret Tate, 80, died at the Sunnyside Memorial
Hospital Friday, Nov. 24, after an illness of three weeks.
Requiem Mass was conducted in St. Joseph Catholic Church
Tuesday at 10 a.m.. Burial was in the Catholic Cemetery, Goldendale, at 2
p.m.. A Rosary was said Monday before the funeral at 7:30 p.m. in St. Joseph
Church. Pallbearers were James Davenport, Bob Stramschror, John Greenhalgh,
Russell Mann, Roy Morrow, and Frank Filicetti.
Margaret Hoctor was born Oct. 27, 1881, in San Francisco.
In 1884 she moved with her parents to Goldendale. On
May 28, 1905, she was united in marriage with Reverdy Lee Tate at The Dalles.
To this union was born five children. Her husband and two sons, Edward and
Cecil, preceded her in death.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Owen Jackson,
Sunnyside; Mrs. Kenneth Matheson, Grandview; and Mrs. Stanley Stern, Ellensburg.
Eight grandchildren, one brother, J.A. Hoctor, Phoenix; and numerous nieces
and nephews including, Mrs. E.V. Wolfe and Harold Watson, both of Sunnyside
are surviving also.
