     Mat Ahola, of Centerville, died at the Mid-Columbia hospital, The Dalles, Tuesday morning. He has been ill for some time. He is a brother of Abe Ahola of this city. Funeral services are to be held tomorrow (Friday) afternoon at 1:30 p.m. from the Chapman Chapel, Elder S.C. Eshelman officiating, with interment following in the Centerville Grange Cemetery.

MATHEW A. AHOLA

     Mathew A. Ahola was born at Tervola, Finland October 20, 1853 and died at The Dalles hospital February 17, 1931, at the age of 77 years, 3 months and 27 days.
     He came with his parents to the state of Michigan in 1873 and in 1877 he came to Klickitat county, Washington, settling on a homestead west of Centerville, and has resided there ever since.
     He was married to Mathilda Mattson June 29th, 1899. To this union three sons were born, F. William, Walter K., and Webster O., who with the wife and six grandchildren survive. Also one brother, A.J. Ahola, of Goldendale, Wash., and one sister, Margaret K. Ahola, of Wilbur, Wash.
     Funeral services were held Friday, February 20th, at 1:30 p.m. from the Chapman Chapel, Elder S.C. Eshelman officiating, interment following in the Centerville Grange Cemetery.

     Word was received Tuesday morning that Matt Ahola passed away at The Dalles hospital.
