SHORT ILLNESS PROVES FATAL TO MRS. F.O. WITIKKA
Mrs. F.O. Witikka, a resident of Centerville since 1935,
passed away Monday morning, December 1, at the Goldendale General hospital
after a short illness.
She and her husband came to Centerville for residence
in 1935 and she had made her home there since that time. Among the survivors
are two sons, Rainier Rein, of Centerville, and Vern Rein of Reno, Nevada.
The funeral was set for Thursday afternoon at two o'clock
in the Phillips funeral home, with burial in the Centerville cemetery.

RITES HELD FOR MRS. WITIKKA
Final rites for Mrs. Frank O. Witikka were held last
Thursday, December 4, in the Phillips funeral home, with Rev. Bruce B.
Groseclose, pastor of the Goldendale Methodist church, officiating.
Pall bearers were Matt Crocker, Matta Jacobson, John,
Kahkonen, Oscar Olson, John Lahti, and William Niva.
Interment was in the Centerville cemetery.

MATILDA WITIKKA
Matilda Witikka was born in Finland May 17, 1879 and
passed away on Dec. 1, 1947 at Goldendale. She was a resident of Klickitat
County for most of the 43 years that she had been in America.
She was married to Elias Rein in Finland and she came
to the United States with her family in 1904. Her husband, Elias Rein, passed
away in 1912 and a daughter, Esther, passed away in 1918.
Later she married Frank Witikka who survives. Also surviving
are her two sons, Rainer Rein, of Centerville, and Vernon Rein, of Reno,
Nevada.
She was a member of the Finnish Lutheran church of
Centerville and she was a loyal and sincere Christian.
