MINNIE BAUGHER
Minnie Baugher, a longtime resident of the Mid-Columbia,
died March 22, 1987, at Skyline Hospital in White Salmon, at the age of 94.
Mrs. Baugher was born Jan. 24, 1893, in Flatrock, Ill.,
to Enoch and Julia Landrith. She was raised in the Midwest and came to the
Mid-Columbia and married James D. Baugher on Nov. 3, 1919. She worked as
a waitress for many years and she and her husband ran the Trout Lake Hotel
for about seven years prior to his death in 1954. She then married his brother,
Guy, on Jan. 25, 1955. He died in 1971. She was a member of the United Methodist
Church, the U.M.W., and was a volunteer for the Klickitat County Senior Services.
She was active in the Bethel Shalom Pinochle Club and enjoyed singing and
visiting the sick. She was very independent until ill health forced her to
give up her apartment and go to the nursing home.
She is survived by a brother, Laurence Landrith, North
Bend, Ore.; a sister-in-law, Grace Baugher, Hood River, Ore.; and numerous
nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services were held March 25, 1987, at 1 p.m. at the United
Methodist Church in White Salmon, with Rev. John Grabner officiating. Interment
was in the White Salmon Cemetery.
