MAX LADIGES
Max Clarence Ladiges Jr., died in White Salmon on July
1, 1999, at the age of 85.
Mr. Ladiges was born in Glenwood on March 14, 1914. He
resided with his parents Max and Elizabeth Ladiges at their ranch on the
east side of the Glenwood Valley, where in 1932 he graduated from high school.
Then next four years were spent in San Francisco, Calif., Portland, Ore.,
and the Glenwood Valley. In 1936, he was united in marriage to Irma June
Krall, also of Glenwood. To this union were born three children.
In their first eight years of marriage Mr. Ladiges was
involved in ranching, both in Washington and Idaho. The couple moved back
to Glenwood to buy and operate the Glenwood Market for the next 28 years
before selling and moving to the Pucker Huddle area of White Salmon. That
had been his home for 27 years.
Mr. Ladiges was a charter member of the Glenwood Rodeo
Association and the last living contestant of the first Ketchum-Kalf Rodeo,
a 50-Year member of the Glenwood Grange, Camas Prairie and Vicinity Pioneer
Association, a 50-Year Masonic Lodge member, a past member of the Glenwood
Volunteer Fire Department, and the Elk's Lodge.
He is survived by his three children Ron Ladiges, White
Salmon, Coral Ladiges, Yakima, and Gloria Harter, Glenwood: four grandchildren
Guy Harter, Valerie Baker, Jaylin Ladiges, Gina Moss: one great-granddaughter
and seven great-grandsons: sister Lucille Bolt; and many nieces, nephews
and friends. He was preceded in death by granddaughter Glenda Harter, his
wife Irma, two sisters and two brothers.
Services for Mr. Ladiges will be held Saturday, July
10, 1999, at 2 p.m. at Gardner Chapel with a graveside service following
at Mt. Adams cemetery in Glenwood.
Arrangements were handled by Gardner Funeral Home of
White Salmon.

spouses, Guy Harter, Valerie and Rick Baker, Jaylin Jeana Ladiges and Gina
and Larry Moss; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Lucille Bolt.
Services will be held Saturday, July 10, at 2 p.m. at
Gardner Chapel in White Salmon, with graveside services following at Mt.
Adams Cemetery in Glenwood.
