MABEL QUINTON

     Mabel Quinton was born May 3, a daughter of Frank and Sarah Nelson, deceased. She was united in marriage to James Quinton on September 25, 1907 at Paris, Idaho. To this union was born four sons, George, Lloyd and Lawrence of Lyle and Ernest of Boise, Idaho. Three daughters, Stella and Lilly of Lyle and Ruby of Englewood, California.
     Besides her husband and children she leaves eighteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren; two brothers, Lloyd Nelson of Pasco and Amos Nelson of Bandon, Oregon; two sisters, Mr. Roy Johnson and Mrs. Thornton Rhoads of Bandon, Oregon.

LYLE WOMAN DIES AT THE DALLES

     Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 13, at Gardners Funeral chapel for Mrs. James (Mabel) Quinton, 63, of Lyle. The Rev. James Duffy of White Salmon officiated. James Curl, Wm. McLeod and four of Mrs. Quinton's grandsons acted as pallbearers. Burial was in Balch cemetery. Surviving Mrs. Quinton is her husband, james, of Lyle, to whom she was married 47 years ago; three daughters, Stella Pimley and Lily Shigley of Lyle and Ruby Gustafson of Inglewood, Calif.; four sons, George, Lloyd and Lawrence of Lyle and Earnest of Boise, Idaho; 18 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Also, two brothers, Lloyd Nelson of Kennewick and Amos Nelson of Bandon, Ore.; and two sisters, Naomi Rhodes, also of Bandon, and Fay Johnson of Anchorage, Alaska. Mrs. Quinton was taken by Gardners ambulance to a hospital in T. D. Wednesday, Nov. 10. She died there at 8 p.m. that same evening.

"Lyle News"

     Mrs. James Quinton passed away Wednesday in The Dalles hospital after suffering a stroke at her home here the evening before. She was 64 years old. Gardner's Funeral home had charge of funeral services which were held Saturday afternoon. She was buried in the Balch cemetery at Lyle. The sympathy of the entire community is extended to the family in this time of their great loss.
