MARIAN SCHMID
Marian Caryl Schmid, a former Trout Lake resident, died
in Aloha, Ore., on July 18, 2001, at the age of 84.
Mrs. Schmid was born Feb.22, 1917, in Jackson Township,
Iowa, to Anna (Conklin) and Isaac Barnes Caryl. The family piled in cars
when she was 10 and began working their way west. It took many weeks before
they settled in the Columbia Gorge area. She graduated from Washougal High
School and married Kenneth Schmid on Jan. 1, 1949. She raised her family
in Trout Lake and lived there until 1995, when they moved to Hillsboro, Ore.,
to be nearer family. She enjoyed quilting, cooking, sewing and was a member
of the Trout Lake Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Schmid is survived by her son Kelvin Schmid, Trout
Lake; daughter Rosalie Rich, Hillsboro, Ore.; brothers Paul Caryl, Stevenson,
and Richard Caryl, Bow; grandsons Geoff, Byron and Allen, all of Hillsboro,
Ore.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by son Jerry
in 1970 and husband Kenneth in 1998. She was also preceded in death by brothers
Rollin, Robert and Lloyd Caryl.
Services for Mrs. Schmid will be held Sunday, July 29,
2001, at 2:30 p.m. at the Trout Lake Presbyterian Church. Interment will
follow at the Trout Lake Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Trout Lake Presbyterian
Church Memorial Fund.

Marian Caryl Schmid, 84, died July 18, 2001, in

Funeral services will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Trout
Lake Presbyterian Church in Trout Lake, Wash. Interment will follow in Trout
Lake Cemetery.

Wash., and Richard Caryl, Bow, Wash.; and numerous nieces and
nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Jerry, in 1970; and

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Trout
Lake Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund.
