MARY C. VAUGHAN

     Mary Camila Vaughan of White Salmon died July 8 in Hood River. She was 89.
     Mrs. Vaughan was born April 16, 1907 in Grandville, N.D. to Mary Alice (Hart) and John Henry Leavy. She grew up in North Dakota and married Francis "Gene" Vaughan in 1933. They came to Washington in 1938 and moved to White Salmon in 1945.
     Between 1946-49 the Vaughans ran the Husum store, Mrs. Vaughan also worked for underwood Fruit for 18 years until retirement in the late 60s. Her husband died in 1988. She was baptized Catholic.
     She is survived by her sons, Larry E. Vaughan of BZ Corners, Bill Vaughan of Vancouver, daughter, Mary K. Huffsmith of Trout Lake; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
     Graveside services were held Monday at Trout Lake Cemetery.
     Contributions may be given to American Diabetes Association in care of Gardner Funeral Home.
     Gardner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
