MAN KILLED IN TRUCK WRECK
A White Salmon man was killed last Wednesday when the
truck he was driving rolled over on a logging road east of Glenwood.
Merle Dean Vezina, 21, was killed when he lost control
of his Kenworth water tanker in a curve, rolled over at least twice and landed
on its top, according to Klickitat County sheriff's deputies. The accident
occurred about 4:20 p.m. on the Summit Creek Road, a St. Regis logging road.
There were no witnesses, and Vezina was the only occupant
of the truck. Loggers who approached the scene of the accident shortly after
it occurred reported it. Vezina was dead when help arrived, deputies said.
Vezina was employed by KLC Logging, which had leased
the truck.
