OBITUARY

     Margaret E. Adams was born in Johnson Co. Mo., Nov. 13, 1841. Emmigrated to Oregon by ox team in 1847, arriving about two weeks before the Whitman massacre. Was married to Hugh Adams January 15, 1851. Gave her heart to God and was regenerated by the Holy Spirit when 18 years of age. Shortly afterwards she united with the Baptist church and has been a faithful member ever since. They came to Klickitat the fall of 1873, was one of the oldest pioneers of the county. They settled on Spring Creek and lived there until the death of Uncle Hugh, since then she has lived with her son Demster of Horseshoe Bend. Departed from this life Oct. 6, 1910. She leaves to mourn her loss two daughters, Mrs. Stump of Pleasant Valley, and Mrs. Brown of Horseshoe Bend. Four boys, Elder J.E. Adams of Spring Creek, T.D. and George Adams of Horseshoe Bend, Freeman Adams of Crofton Prairie, and a host of Grandchildren and friends.
     The Funeral services were held at Spring Creek and she was laid to rest in the S.C. cemetery. There was a large crowd to pay the last respects to the departed. The services were conducted by George H. Darland, Mr. Merle Chapman, funeral director.
