MARGARET BENNINGTON
Margaret Ethel Bennington, a Trout Lake High School graduate,
died Dec. 1 at Providence Medical Center in Portland, Ore., of heart failure,
at the age of 75.
Mrs. Bennington was born in Trout Lake on April 10, 1924,
to George and Ethel Wotton. She was raised in Trout Lake and graduated from
high school there in 1942. She married Robert H. Bennington on Aug.14, 1942,
in Reno, Nev.
She loved all of her family very much, especially the
young ones as they kept her young. She loved traveling, going to visit the
kids in Ohio every year and taking lots of road trips with her daughters.
She had devoted her life to the Lord and the Assembly of God Church in Bingen,
where she had lived for the past 19 years. It was her faith in God which
got her through her illness and the love and prayers from all her friends.
She will be greatly missed by her friends and family.
Mrs. Bennington is survived by children Ann Endres, Redmond,
Ore., Marlene Starr, White Salmon, Misty Evans, Manchester, Ohio, Barry
Bennington, West Union, Ohio, and Bonnie Douglas, Hood River, Qre.; grandchildren
Mark Adams, Hillsboro, Ore., Debbie Drake, Cornelius, Ore., Dusty Irvin,
Hood River, Holly and Zachary Bennington, West Union, Ohio, and Jeni and
Rob Douglas, Hood River; great-grandchildren James and Jordon Adams, Nicole
and Dakota Drake, and Noah Lane/Irvin; sister Grace Robbins, BZ Corners;
and brother Bill Wotton, Trout Lake. She was preceded in death by her husband
Bob in January 1989 and son Robert Bennington in 1996.
Funeral services for Mrs. Bennington were held Saturday,
Dec. 4, 1999, at 2 p.m. at Gardner Funeral Home in White Salmon. Interment
was at White Salmon Cemetery.
Arrangements were handled by Gardner Funeral Home in
White Salmon.
