DEATH SUMMONS MRS. CHARTERS
Funeral services for Maggie E. Charters were held Monday,
April 17 at 2 p.m. at the Gardner Funeral Chapel with Rev. Roger L. Clevenger
officiating. Interment was in the Oddfellows cemetery.
Maggie Charters was born May 30, 1878 in Francetown,
Pennsylvania, and died Friday, April 14, at Skyline hospital being nearly
83 years of age at the time of her death.
Mrs. Charters was well known in the Bingen community,
having lived here for many years and owning the hotel property which houses
the Evergreen Grocery.
Serving as bearers for the funeral were Clarence Johnson,
Amos Larsen, Walter Suksdorf, Robert Brown, John Dickey and Bill Lauterbach.
She is survived by two sons: Robert G. Charters of Bingen,
Wm. Charters of Detroit, Michigan; three daughters: Mrs. Ruth Scott of Yakima,
Mrs. Jeanette Davis of Detroit, Mich., and Mrs. Mary Feser of Yakima; ten
grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 1 sister, Mildred Frank of Los
Angeles.
