FUNERAL FOR MRS. CHILDS SATURDAY
Funeral services for Mrs. F.O. Childs will be held Saturday
at 11 o'clock at the Gardner Chapel in this city. Mrs. Childs passed away
in The Dalles Tuesday.
Mary Evan Childs was born September 15, 1863 in Wheetland
county, Michigan and died March 17, 1943, at the age of 79 years six months
and two days.
Legionnaires and friends are invited to attend the funeral
for this fine woman, who was a Gold Star mother of the first World War. The
local Post was named in memory of her son, Evan Childs who made the supreme
sacrifice on the battle field. Rev. George Jefferson will have charge of
the services.
