DEATH SUMMONS LYLE PIONEER
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary E. Course, 91, resident
of Lyle since 1909, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14 at Gardner's
Chapel, White Salmon.
The Rev. Everett Richey of Lyle Methodist church will
officiate. Burial will be beside her husband at Spring Creek Cemetery, seven
miles from Goldendale.
Mrs. Course was born on Feb. 27, 1873 at Crosstown, Missouri
to Lucy and Amizar Bruner. She was married to Charles Lewis Course on Aug.
22, 1894. He died on Feb. 4, 1924.
Mrs. Course died Sunday, Nov. 8 at Skyline Hospital,
White Salmon.
She is survived by her daughter Stella, Mrs. Lloyd McNabb,
of Lyle; a son, Walter Course of Lakewood, Calif.; brother, John Bruner,
Goldendale on; 14 grandchildren, 26 great grand-children and 16 great-great
grandchildren.
A daughter, Jettie Taylor of The Dalles, Ore., died Sept.
26, 1962.
Mrs. Course was a member of the Lyle Methodist Church;
an honorary member of the Lyle Woman's Club and a charter honorary member
of Columbia Grange.

MARY E. COURSE
Funeral services for Mary E. Course, resident of Lyle
since 1909, were held November 14 at Gardner's Chapel in White Salmon.
Mrs. Course was born February 27, 1873 in Crosstown,
Mo., the daughter of Lucy and Amizar Bruner. She was united in marriage at
Crosstown on August 22, 1894 to Charles Lewis Course. He passed away February
4, 1924.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Lloyd McNabb of Lyle,
and a son, Walter Howard Course, in California. Another daughter, Mrs. Jettie
Taylor, passed away at The Dalles in 1961. There are also 14 grandchildren,
26 great grandchildren and 16 great great grandchildren. A brother, John
Bruner and nephew, Clyde Bruner, both of Goldendale, also survive.
Mrs. Course was a member of the Lyle Methodist Church,
had been an honorary member of the Columbia Grange of Lyle, and an honorary
member of the Lyle Women's Club.
The Rev. Everett E. Richey of the Lyle Methodist Church
officiated at services. Interment was in the Spring Creek Cemetery near
Goldendale, where Mr. Course was buried.
This casket bearers were: Ray Hess, Joe Pinell, Stanley
Hylton, Frank Hewitt, Harold Sorensen and Lotus Ewing.
