OBITUARY
(White Salmon Correspondence of the Agri.)
Melvin Manley
Saturday night, April 20, 1929, about 7:30, the lifeless
body of Melvin Manley was found in a chair in the living room of his residence.
The discovery was made by Senator C.L. Colburn, who had
called to see if his old friend would accompany him to a grange meeting at
Stevenson.
Death evidently from heart disease, had overtaken Mr.
Manley suddenly, for the door was wide open, and some purchases made by him
were lying on the chair beside him.
Mr. Manley was born in 1857, in Illinois, and had been
a highly esteemed and valuable citizen of White Salmon for over 31 years.
