DEATH COMES TO MARTHA COOPER, PIONEER RESIDENT
Martha Gertrude Cooper, 73, died at her home at Lyle
at 11:45 a.m. Thursday: Mrs. Cooper moved to a ranch near Goldendale from
Oregon May 10, 1903, and moved to Lyle in 1941.
Funeral services for her were conducted at the Phillips
Chapel Monday at 2 p.m. and interment followed in the Spring Creek cemetery.
Reverend Albert Heard was the officiating minister.
Her survivors include four sons, Delwyn Cooper of Goldendale;
Floyd Cooper of Lyle; and Lawrence Cooper of Camas and Ora Cooper of Klickitat.
Three daughters: Hazel Espinosa of Parkdale, Ore.; Leila Robison of Clear
Lake Oaks, Calif.; Myrtle Keiser of Albany, Ore.; A. Cooper of Klickitat;
20 grand-children and 18 great-grandchildren; a sister, Grace Bremer, of
Seattle.
Martha was born in Colusa County, Calif., May 24, 1880,
to John and Elizabeth Fortna.
She was married to Guy Louis Cooper at Condon, Ore.,
on December 30, 1897.
Besides her relatives, Mrs. Cooper leaves to mourn her
a host of friends earned in a half a century of residence in this county.
