MARY GIERSCH

     Mary Kreps Giersch died June 23, 1998, at her home in Glenwood, at the age of 54.
     Mrs. Giersch was born Aug. 14, 1943, in Hood River, Ore., to Oliver P. and Mary L. (Miller) Kreps. She grew up in Glenwood, graduating from high school there. She received her teaching certificate from Pacific Lutheran University.
     She married William A. Giersch in Laurel on June 11, 1967. She taught at Hoquiam for several years before moving back to Glenwood in 1976 to run a cattle ranch.
     Cows were her hobby. She loved to ride and she mowed and baled hay.
     Mrs. Giersch is survived by her husband, William, Glenwood; mother, Mary L., Glenwood; sisters Kathleen Ohnemus and Margaret Throop, both of Glenwood; and several nieces and nephews.
     At her request, there will be no funeral services.
     Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Gorge, P.O. Box 36, Hood River, Ore. 97031.

     Mary Kreps Giersch, 54, of Glenwood, passed away June 23, 1998.

     At her request, no services were held. Gardner Funeral Home in White Salmon is in charge of arrangements. Donations may be made to Hospice of the Gorge, or random acts of kindness to someone or an animal.
