BURNED TO DEATH - A Russian Finn was found dead in the vicinity of Lyle last Monday morning. Sheriff Warwick, in the absence of Coroner Sanders, now on a visit to relatives at Albany, Or. made an official investigation. It appeared the man had been intoxicated and had built a fire to warm himself and had then fell asleep. He must have rolled into the fire, for when the body was found he was burned into a cinder from the waist down. There being no reason to suspect foul play, the sheriff ordered a coffin sent down and the body has been a interred at the expense of the county. Nothing was known of the man, but some thought his name was Michael Hill, and that he had been working on the north bank railroad.
