MINNIE J. SAXTON

     Minnie J. Crawford was born in Susanville, California, April 23rd, 1865. When but a small child she twice crossed the plains with her parents. At the age of twelve she came to Klickitat county, with her parents, and settled near Grand Dalles, where she made her home until 1888, when she was united in marriage to Frank Saxton. To this union four children were born. After her marriage her residence was made on a farm near Centerville, until 1906 when the farm was sold and the final move was made to the Spring Creek section where she resided until her death March 15, 1934, at the age of 68 years, 11 months and 20 days. She was the last member of the Wm. N. Crawford family, her two brothers and one sister having preceded her to the better country.
     She leaves to mourn her demise her husband, Frank Saxton, of near Goldendale, two sons, Carl of Yacolt, Wash., Virgil, of Goldendale, and one daughter, Mrs. Edith Bledsoe, of Goldendale. One daughter, Mrs. Ethel Yeackel, preceded her several years ago. Three grandchildren also survive, Mrs. M.V. Miller and Marjorie Yeackel of Goldendale, and Carl Wayne Saxton, of Yacolt, and a large number of friends and relatives. She was a member of the Christian church at Centerville. She was a kind and loving wife and mother, never complaining during her illness, always considerate of others.
     Services were held from the Chapman chapel Saturday afternoon, at 2 o'clock, Elder S.C. Eshelman delivering the funeral sermon. Interment was in the Centerville Grange cemetery.
