MICHAEL LASCH
A one-time coal miner in the Pennsylvania and California
mines, Micheal (Mike) Lasch, 82, died Christmas Day at Vancouver Memorial
Hospital.
Lasch's last address was listed as 209 W. Thirty-ninth
St. He had been a Vancouver resident for the past 46 years.
Born February 13, 1883 in Luxembourg, a small country
located between France and Belgium, Mr. Lasch came to the United States in
1903 and went to Pennsylvania to work in the mines. Later he went to the
San Francisco area where he also was involved in a mine work.
Before retiring in 1948, Lasch was employed as a foreman
for Swift and Co. meat packers. A past chancelor of the Knights of Pythias
No. 6, Lasch received the club's 50 year pin in 1959. He was also a member
of the Minnehaha Grange No. 164.
Survivors include his widow, Bernice, at home; two step-sons,
a step-daughter and twelve step-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at
the Hamilton-Mylan Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Park Hill Cemetery
where committal services will be handled by the Knights of Pythias.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Hamilton-Mylan Funeral Home. Interment will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 29 at Hamilton-Mylan Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Park Hill Cemetery. Committal services by Knights of Pythias. Hamilton-Mylan Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
