MAY LUCILLE COOLIDGE
May Lucille Coolidge, a resident of Dallesport and a
long-time denizen of Klickitat County, died June 14 in The Dalles, Ore.,
at the age of 70.
Mrs. Coolidge was born May 11, 1915 in Cass Lake, Minn.,
to Gustav and Lucille Steindorf. The family moved to Klickitat in 1923, where
May attended schools.
She married Charles Coolidge Jan. 30, 1932 in Klickitat.
For a time, she worked for the J. Neils Lumber Company in Klickitat. She
enjoyed handicrafts and crocheting. Mrs. Coolidge was a member of Grace Lutheran
Church of Klickitat. She is survived by
her husband Charles of Dallesport; two sons, Charles of San Fransisco and
Carl of Bingen; two daughters, Lucille Brown of Kingston, Wash., Beatrice
Hodges of Gladstone, Ore., and Joanne Brown of Milwaukie, Ore.; 15 grandchildren
and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held June 17 in Klickitat at Grace
Lutheran Church with Pastor Keith Wellman officiating. Interment was in the
Mt. Adams Cemetery in Glenwood under direction of Knosher-Erdman Funeral
Home, Goldendale. Pallbearers included Art Bacci,
George Hall, Richard Bales, Tony Reiss, Gerald Olney and Jerry Stevens. Honorary
pallbearers were her grandsons, Timothy Brown, Joseph Brown Jr., Raymond
Keith, Walter Brown, Carl Coolidge, Robert Hodges Jr., David Coolidge, David
Hodges and Michael Brown.
