DICKERSON SERVICE HELD AT GARDNER’S
Myrtle L. Dickerson was born June 9th, 1900 in Goldendale, Washington, the
daughter of Martha and Grant Clarence. She was united in marriage on October 1,
1919 to John Lester Dickerson.
She had been a resident of Bingen since 1946. She
lived with her parents on a farm west of Goldendale and attended Crofton Prairie
School.
Following a short illness and she passed away at a
hospital in Portland on February 2nd at the age of 61 years, 7 months, and 24
days. She leaves her husband, John Lester Dickerson of Bingen, two daughters:
Mrs. Ray Cochran of White Salmon and Mrs. Ella F. Lester of Bingen, her mother,
Mrs. Martha Clarence of Bingen. Also three brothers, Wesley Clarence of
Klickitat, Wash., Glenn E. Clarence of Houghton, Wash., and Floyd Clarence of
Bingen and four grand-children.
One daughter, Lucille Freedlove, preceded her in death
in 1942.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 6th, 2
p.m. at Gardner’s Funeral Chapel, White Salmon with Rev. Mr. Roger Clevenger
officiating. Interment was in the IOOF Cemetery, White Salmon.

MRS. DICKERSON FUNERAL TUES.
Funeral services for Mrs. John Lester (Myrtle L.) Dickerson, 61, Bingen, were
held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6 at Gardners Chapel. The Rev. Roger L. Clevenger
officiating. Burial was in the Odd Fellows cemetery, White Salmon.
Casket bearers were Ray Hess, Harold Lewis, Amos
Larsen, Harvey Mansfield, W. J. Cody and Marlin Olson.
Mrs. Dickerson was born June 9, 1900 at Goldendale, the
daughter of Grant and Martha Clarence. She has lived in Bingen for 16 years.
She suffered a stroke on Jan. 29 and was taken to Good Samaritan hospital,
Portland, where she died Friday, Feb. 2.
Mrs. Dickerson spent her girlhood on her parents’ farm
west of Goldendale and attended Crofton Prairie School. On Oct. 1, 1919 she was
married to John Lester Dickerson.
Mrs. Dickerson is survived by her widower, John Lester
Dickerson; daughters, Mrs. Ray (Vivian) Cochran of White Salmon and Mrs. Frank
Tony (Ella) Lester of Bingen; her mother, Mrs. Martha Clarence, Bingen; three
brothers, Wesley Clarence of Klickitat, Glen E. Clarence of Houghton and Floyd
Clarence, Bingen; and four grandchildren: John, Judy and James Cochran and Craig
Lester. Also numerous other relatives.
A third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dickerson, Velma
Lucille, died in June 1942.
