MARY HEMMY

     Mary Louise Hemmy, a former Trout Lake resident, died Jan. 7, 1997, at an extended care facility in Milwaukie, Ore., at the age 82.
     Mrs. Hemmy was born Nov 14, 1914, in Minneapolis, Minn. After receiving her education, her life was spent in social work at various levels. She was a director of social work in the college of Medicine at the University of Chicago, Ill. Later, she served as executive director of the American Association of Medical Social Workers in Washington, D.C. She was also a professor in the School of Medicine of Social Work at the University of Pittsburg, Pa. Prior to retirement, she was executive director of the Benjamine Rose Institute in Cleveland, Ohio.
     Upon retirement in 1977, Mrs. Hemmy moved to Trout Lake. She later moved to Milwaukie, Ore.
     Mrs. Hemmy left no relatives, but is survived by many friends.
     At her request no services will be held. Private cremation will be followed by private inurnment at the Trout Lake Cemetery.
     Memorials may be made in her memory to the Rose Villa Retirement Community in Milwaukie, Ore.
     Arrangements were handled by Stehn's Milwaukie Funeral Home.

     At her request, no service will be held for Mary Louise Hemmy who died Jan. 7, 1997, at the age of 82.

She retired in 1977 to Trout Lake, Wash., and later moved to Milwaukie.
     There were no survivors.
     Private interment will be in Trout Lake Cemetery. Friends suggest remembrances to the Rose Villa Retirement Community in Milwaukie. Arrangements are by Stehn's Milwaukie Funeral Home.
