MARY LOUISE MILLER KREPS
Mary Louise Miller Kreps, 87, of Glenwood, died at her
home April 28, 2000.
She was born Sept. 26, 1912 in Seattle to Alvin Augustus
Miller and Mary Anna Hickman Miller. Mary L.'s mother died in 1927, and her
father married Gail Conaway several years later. Mary L. graduated from the
University of Washington, summa cum laude with a degree in biology in 1935.
After securing a teaching position in Glenwood in the
fall of 1935, Mary L. taught for three years before she married Oliver Peter
Kreps Jr. in Seattle on Oct. 27, 1938. She then devoted herself to her husband,
raising their three daughters, and volunteering. Later, she returned to teaching
for ten years and also served on the Glenwood School Board. She supported
youth, church and community activities without fail. She always said that
being involved kept her interested and made her life worthwhile.
Among her many pursuits were the following clubs and
organizations: the Glenwood Pioneer Memorial Community Church, the Glenwood
Ladies Aid, the Glenwood Federated Women's Club; the Camas Prairie and Vicinity
Pioneer Association, the P.E.O. Sisterhood, Delta Kappa Gamma, Klickitat
County Retired Teachers, Glenwood Grange 94, Washington State Centennial
Committee, the Cowbelles, and 4-H, among others.
Her husband, Ollie; daughter, Mary Gail Giersch; sister,
Hortense M. Watt and two nephews preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathleen K. Ohnemus
and Margaret L. Throop; four granddaughters, Judith, Jaime, Mary and Jessica;
four grandsons, Jerome, Clayton, Justin an Jason; four great-grandchildren;
three nieces and three nephews.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 4 at 2p.m.
at the Pioneer Memorial Community Church in Glenwood. The family suggests
that remembrances be made to the Glenwood Ladies Aid Bible Fund, the Glenwood
Women's Club Scholarship Fund, or the charity of one's choice.

died at her home on Friday. April 28, 2000, at the age of 87.
She was born in Seattle, to Alvin Augustus Miller and
Mary Ann Hickman Miller. Her mother died in l907 and her father married Gail
Conaway several years later. Mrs. Kreps graduated from the University of
Washington summa cum laude with a degree in biology in l935.

death by husband Ollie; daughter Mary Gail Giersch, sister Hortense M. Watt,
and two nephews.
Memorial services for Mrs. Kreps will he held on Thursday,
May 4. at 2 p.m. at the Pioneer Memorial Community Church in Glenwood.
Memorials may he made to the Glenwood Ladies Aid Bible
Fund or the Glenwood Women's Club Scholarship Fund.
