MARIE SPLAWN
Marie Locke Splawn, a White Salmon native, died Sept.
26, 1995, in Hood River, Ore., at the age of 91.
Mrs. Splawn was born March 8, 1904, in White Salmon to
Susan E. (Clemens) and Jacob M. Locke. She lived in White Salmon her entire
life. She worked as a telephone operator for many years, retiring from that
career in the late 1960s. She then became a clerk for the Klickitat County
Cemetery District, a job she held for over 10 years. She was a former Rebecca
Lodge member and attended the Methodist Church. She loved raising dahlias.
Mrs. Splawn is survived by her daughter, Dorothy Williams,
White Salmon; one nephew Major Locke; two nieces Betty Lorenge and Joanne
Mudd; and several cousins.
Graveside services for Mrs. Splawn were held Friday,
Sept. 29, 1995 at 2 p.m., with Rev. JoDene Romeijn-Stout officiating. Vault
interment was at the White Salmon Cemetery.
Arrangements were handled by Gardner Funeral Home.
