MABEL BARNES SERVICES HELD ON WEDNESDAY
Mabel Marie Barnes, who was born in Hinckley, Ill., to
Henry and Christina Ott on Feb. 20, 1908, died at the Seventh Day Adventist
hospital in Portland on Jan. 4.
Mrs. Barnes moved to White Salmon several months ago
after living many years in the Lyle-Dallesport area. She was a member of
the Order of Eastern Star, Martha Washington chapter 42, of Vancouver, Wa.
Survivors include: 2 sons, Vernon H. Barnes of Sandy,
Ore., and Andrew A. Barnes of White Salmon; 3 daughters, Shirley Ann Shelton
of Sumner, Wa., Janet M. Meresse and Mary Jane Barnes, both of White Salmon;
4 brothers, Wilber Ott., of Grant, Neb., Kenneth Ott of Sandwich, Ill. Herbert
Ott of Grant, Neb., and Jack Ott of Ogallala, Neb.; 2 sisters, Geneva Brown
of Paxton, Neb., and Gladys Peterson of Ogallala, Neb., 4 grandchildren.
Her mother, Christina Ott, of Grant, Neb., also survives
her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew, on
May 7, 1972, and be a sister, Dorothy Knott.
Funeral services were held last Wednesday morning at
10:30 o'clock at Gardner's Chapel in White Salmon with interment at the Lyle
Cemetery. Rev. Donald Kaelin officiated.
