MINNIE M. BEEKS, PIONEER RESIDENT, INTERRED MONDAY
Mrs. Minnie Beeks, a resident of Klickitat county since
1891, was laid to rest in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery Monday afternoon after
funeral services at the Phillips Funeral Home. Ivan Weltzin officiated at
the final rites for the pioneer woman.
Mrs. Beeks was born Minnie May Tuttle in Clay County,
Kansas on April 6, 1878. She passed away August 20 at Klickitat Valley Hospital
at the age of 77 years, four months and 14 days.
She came to Klickitat County in 1891 where she resided
until her death. She was united in marriage to John W. Beeks on December
13, 1902. To this union were born eight children. She was preceded in death
by her husband on May 7, 1952. One son, Frank M., also preceded her in death.
Minnie Beeks leaves to mourn her passing, one sister,
Mrs. Bessie Emerson of Goldendale; one brother, Frank Tuttle of White Salmon
Swan; three daughters, Mrs. Zephia Greer of Spokane and, Mrs. Margaret Creason
and Mrs. Irene Barthlemay of Kent; four sons, Lloyd E. of Troutlake, William
L. of Orick, California, John W. of Roosevelt, and Walter E. of Goldendale;
nineteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews
and many friends.
Mrs. Beeks was baptized into Christ as a young woman
and spent many years in his service. She was a faithful wife and a devoted
mother. She will long be remembered by her many friends throughout the country.

FUNERAL HELD FOR MINNIE BEEKS
Minnie Beeks, mother of Lloyd Beeks, passed away at
Goldendale Hospital at the age of 77 years. She leaves to mourn her passing,
four sons and three daughters: Mrs. Ernest Greer, Spokane; Mrs. H.D. Creason
and Mrs. Leroy Dartlmay, Ken, Wash.; John Beeks, Roosevelt; Bill Beeks,
Goldendale; Ed Beeks, California; and Lloyd of Trout Lake.
Mrs. Beeks came to Goldendale when a young girl from
Clay County, Kansas. Her husband passed away a few years ago.
Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Goldendale
Funeral Home and burial at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery where her husband
rests.
