MABEL BROWN PASSES AWAY UNEXPECTEDLY

     Funeral services were held Wednesday for Mabel M. Brown who passed away at Klickitat Valley Hospital Sunday. Although she had been ill intermittently for 20 years, her death was unexpected. In Goldendale she is survived by her husband Roy, a son Orris M. and daughters Mrs. Thurman (Geneva) Ward and Mrs. John (Vena Mae) Williams. An obituary is in this issue.

MABEL M. BROWN

     Mabel M. Brown was born to Jacob and Henrietta Day June 11, 1892 and died July 5, 1970.
     She was one of a family of eight children, all preceding her in death except one brother, Floyd W. Day, of Estacada, OR. She was born in Goldendale, living here nearly all her life except for a few years in Klickitat and Hood River.
     In 1909 she married Alva Leroy (Roy) Brown and they lived then in the Horseshoe Bend area. To this union were born in nine children, with one son and one daughter preceding her in death. Her survivors are, in addition to her husband: Mrs. Thurman (Geneva) Ward, Mrs. John (Vena Mae) Williams, and Orris M. Brown of Goldendale; Keith of North bend, OR.; Mrs. Ray (Vina Mae) Springer, Yelm; Mrs. Delbert (Edythe) Monroe and Mrs. George (Reta) Rosebaum of Klickitat, as well as many grand and great-grand children, nieces and nephews.
     Mr. and Mrs. Brown celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last fall, November 25, 1969. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
     Services were held July 8 at Knosher Funeral Home with Roger White officiating, and interment was in the Centerville Cemetery. Pallbearers were Kenneth Day, Wallace Fenton, Jim Sherer, Gail Jackson, Howard Vogt, Norman Minor.
