FORMER RESIDENT IS BURIED HERE
Martha Marie Haltenhoff, 66, former Goldendale resident,
was buried in the Spring Creek cemetery Tuesday afternoon after services
at the Phillips Funeral Home with Elder Harry Hempel of McMinnville, Oregon,
officiating.
Martha was born at Butte, Montana, November 5, 1886,
to William and Teresa Haltenhoff.
She passed away Friday, June 27 in the General Hospital
at McMinnville, Oregon, after a long and grave illness. She received her
early schooling in the Montana public schools.
Interested in teaching as a profession, she studied in
Dillon, Montana, St. Louis and later at Vassar college. In 1933 she accompanied
her elderly father and other members of the family to the west coast. Ten
years were spent on a farm in the Goldendale valley and the remaining years
of her life she made her home near McMinnville.
Although a semi-invalid following a heart attack in 1939
she was always cheerful, full of hope and eager to help others.
Pallbearers were Robert Divers, Owen Calvert, Clarence
Baker, C.H. Campbell, E.H. Amidon and John Hatfield.

GOLDENDALE SERVICE SET FOR MARTHA HALTENHOFF
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today at Goldendale,
Wash., for Martha M. Haltenhoff, 66, a Yamhill county resident for ten years.
Macy and Son are in charge of arrangements. Interment will follow at Springcreek
cemetery.
Miss Haltenhoff is survived by one brother, Henry, Carlton;
and one sister, Mrs. Jane Franz, Route 1 Box 129, McMinnville.
