MIKE HOCTOR PASSES AWAY TUESDAY AFTER LONG ILLNESS
Mike Hoctor, pioneer farmer and stockman, passed away
at his home Tuesday evening at 5:30 after an illness of fifteen months.
He had been a resident of Klickitat County for 61 years,
and had lived on his ranch south of Goldendale for 48 years, having moved
to town last March.
Hoctor was born in Omaha, Neb., on December 20, 1871,
and later moved to California. Afterward he came to The Dalles, and then
to Klickitat county. For the past 40 years he had been buying and selling
livestock through Portland.
He is survived by eight children, all of whom live in
Goldendale except Richard, whose home is in Ellensburg.
William, John, Mrs. Agnes Sarsfield, Joe, Fred, Richard,
Mrs. Grace Fuchs and Robert are his children. Funeral arrangements had not
been made Wednesday morning.
