MELVERDA LAMOREAUX
On Nov. 6, 2007, Melverda Mable Lamoreaux died at Skyline Hospital at the age of
93. She was born to Joseph Hughes and Mable May (Ellis) Claridge in Kelso, on
Jan. 18, 1914.
She lived in the White Salmon area as a child and later
moved to Arizona where she went to school. She met Archie Lamoreaux and the
couple married in 1931. In 1945 they settled in White Salmon and lived here the
rest of their lives.
Mrs. Lamoreaux loved to knit, crochet and quilt and was
always keeping busy with those hobbies. She also enjoyed walking and loved
strolling up and down the hills and all over the town of White Salmon.
Mrs. Lamoreaux is survived by her children, Andre and
Joe Lamoreaux and Jeanine Yeager, all of White Salmon, Michael Lamoreaux,
Bingen, Yvette McKee, Seattle, and Lynette McIntyre, Lacey; 20 grandchildren, 25
great-grandchildren and 3 great, great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death
by her husband Archie, who died in 1984.
A memorial graveside service will be held at a later
date.
