MASON
Mildred R. Mason died at her home, in The Dalles, Oregon
May 27.
She was born in Goldendale June 27, 1915 to Andrew and
Mayme Byrne Swan, pioneer residents of Klickitat County.
Swanie, as she was known to her classmates and friends,
graduated from Goldendale High School in 1933 and was married to Daniel Roe
in 1936. Mr. Roe died during the Battle of the Bulge, January 1945 and is
buried overseas.
In 1954 and she married Virgil I. (Vic) Mason who preceded
her in death in November 1973.
Mrs. Mason was employed for many years by the Klickitat
County PUD as payroll clerk.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Pleasant
Valley Grange and American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed dancing.
She is survived by her brother, Charles of Kittitas,
Wash., and seven nieces and nephews.
Rosary services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday,
June 1 at the Church, and a Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00
a.m. Thursday, June 2, with Father Seamus Kerr as celebrant.
Interment will be at the Holy Trinity Cemetery.
Pallbearers included Robert Swan, Andrew Swan, Patrick
Swan, Clifford Granum, Jody Granum and Wayne Hoctor.
