SERVICES FOR MONTY GRANT THROOP MARCH 13

     Monty Grant Throop, who passed away near Klickitat on Mar. 7, was born May 13, 1953 to Donaldeen and Lloyd C. Throop at McMinnville, Or. He was a resident of Trout Lake, and had been engaged in logging since graduation from high school.
     Surviving are: his wife, Tricia Harper Throop of Vancouver; his parents of Trout Lake; 3 brothers, Duane Carter Throop and Douglas Allen Throop, both of The Dalles, Or. and Brian C. Throop of Trout Lake; 2 sisters, Jacqueline Iles of Hood River and Barbara Throop of Trout Lake; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Herrel Carter Throop of Hood River and Mr. W.A. Martzall of Washougal.
     Funeral services were held 11 a.m., Mar. 13 at Gardner's Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Haag of the Bethel Congregational Church officiating. Interment was at White Salmon.
     Casket bearers were: James Beam, John Beam, Derrel Montgomery, Joe Beam, Michael Scott and Bruce Steinbach.

CRASH KILLS TWO MEN

     KLICKITAT -- Two men were killed when the car which they were riding ran off Highway 142 about 2 a.m. Sunday.        The victims were Westley Bates, 34, White Salmon, and Monty Throop, 22, Trout Lake.
     Their car, headed west, plunged over a bank nearly 100 feet high, officers said.
