VAN AELST
Muriel Van Aelst, 60, of Goldendale, passed away on Sun.,
Sept. 22 at her home.
She was born on Oct. 9, 1930 in Lincoln Park, Michigan
to George and Alice Proctor. She attended schools in Houghton Lake, Mich.,
and attended college at Harding University in Ark.. She taught school in
Portland and Idaho for several years and was united in marriage to Neil Van
Aelst in Alice on Apr. 28, 1968, in Portland.
She is survived by her husband and Neil, of Goldendale;
two brothers, Robert Proctor, of Hershey, Mich., and Harry Proctor of Houghton
Lake, Mich.; two sisters, Juanita Kuccera, of Chicago, and Susan Wilson of
San Pedro, Calif., and three nephews.
Muriel was a member of the Goldendale Church of Christ,
the Grange and the Cattlewomen. She enjoyed sewing and crafts.
Funeral services were held on Wed., Sept. 25, at 2 p.m.
in the United Methodist Church with Mike Gotcher, of the Goldendale Church
of Christ, officiating. Interment was in Pleasant Valley Cemetery under the
care of Knosher-Erdman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers included Robert Lee, Roscoe Imrie, John
Stonewall, Richard Stonewall, Terrance Atkins and Everett Bane. Honorary
pallbearers work Fred Weaver, Gerald Fenton, Norman Evans, Richard Sellers,
Arthur Schuster, Philip Klaussen, Walter Hamilton and Norman Dingmon.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer
Society.
