MARTHA VIOLA WALKER
Martha Viola Walker died at her White Salmon home on
May 9. She was 68.
Mrs. Walker was born March 11, 1923 to Henry Murray and
Emilie Catherine Murray (Hylton) in Glenwood. Her growing years were spent
in Glenwood, moving to White Salmon where she completed her schooling.
She spent many years living and working in Mesa, Ariz.,
where she leaves behind many friends. Returning to Washington after retirement
eight years ago, Mrs. Walker was an avid reader, skilled in crossword puzzles
and enjoyed pinochle.
She was preceded in death by her eldest son, Gerald C.
McGrew of Hampton, Va. She is survived by her four children, Bonnie McGrew
Hames of Eureka, Calif., Dan McGrew of Detroit, Mich., Louise McGrew Jones
of Tacoma, and Jeffrey Walker of Willard; sisters, M. Edith Kuhnhausen of
Portland and Wilma Driver of White Salmon; 10 grandchildren and one great
grandchildren.
