MARY WANG
Longtime area resident Mary Wang died at her home in
Bingen on Feb. 16, 2000, at the age of 72.
Mrs. Wang was born in Chehalis on July 22, 1927.
Her joy was being involved in everything community and
she gave many years of dedicated service. Since moving to the White Salmon
area in 1963 with her husband Willard (Bill) Wang and their six children,
she had served on numerous committees and was chairman of May Fest and active
in Huckleberry Fest for many years.
She enjoyed sharing the beauty of the area with others
and was always sharing photos, videos and stories about the beautiful Columbia
Gorge.
She was a member of the Chamber of Commerce and was named
Citizen of the Year in 1984. She served as well on the White Salmon Valley
School Board for 13 years and donated her time to the West Klickitat Historical
Society and the Conboy Wildlife Refuge. She was very active in Klickitat
County Mental Health.
A proud member of the Rebekah Lodge, she rose to that
organization's highest rank in 1989 when she was elected President of the
International Association of Rebekah Assemblies. Her affiliation with Rebekahs
gave her the opportunity to travel and see many wonderful places, but she
was always happiest at home with her family and her community.
She was a constant friend to many and her kindness and
generosity will be missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her husband former Bingen
Police Chief Willard P. 'Bill' Wang in 1986.
She is survived by her sons Jerry, Portland. Ore., Willard
P. Jr., Goldendale, Philip, Umatilla, Ore., Thomas, Bingen, and Gregory,
Seattle; and daughter Shirlene, Ft. Walton Beach, Fla. She adored her 13
grandchildren and was proud of her two new great-grandchildren.
Her loving spirit and devotion to all will be remembered
forever.
Services for Mrs. Wang were held Saturday. Feb. 26, 2000, at
1 p.m. at the Columbia High School Gym in White Salmon.

Funeral services for Mary Wyvonne Wang, 72, of Bingen, will be held at Columbia High School Gymnasium in White Salmon on Saturday, Feb. 26, with the Rev. Dave Garrison officiating. Burial will follow in the White Salmon Cemetery. A complete obituary will follow next week.

MARY WYVONNE WANG
Mary Wyvonne Wang, 72, of Bingen, died Feb. 16, 2000.
She was born July 22, 1927 in Chehalis to George G. and
Rhoda B. (Bullard) Ragan. Mary grew up in Northern California and Onalaska,
graduating from Onalaska High School. She married Willard Palmer Wang on
June 21, 1947 in Trout Lake. The couple lived all over the world while he
was in the service, then came back to the White Salmon area in 1963.
Mary has served on numerous committees and was chairman
of the May Fest and active in the Huckleberry Fest for many years.
Mary was a member of the Chamber of Commerce and was

Survivors include five sons, Jerry Wang of Portland,
Willard P. Wang Jr. of Goldendale, Philip Wang of Umatilla, Ore., Thomas
Wang, of Bingen, and Gregory Wang of Seattle; one daughter, Shirlene of Ft.
Walton Beach, Fla.; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held Feb.26 at the Columbia High School
gymnasium in White Salmon. Gardner Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
