NANCY ELLEN RAY

     Nancy Ellen (Akers) Ray was born June 30, 1886 in Missouri, the daughter of John and Mary Akers. She died in Goldendale on April 10, 1968 at the age of 81 years.
     She was united in marriage to Daniel Monroe Ray on December 23, 1901 at Girard, Ks. To this union five sons and three daughters were born. One son, Daniel, died in infancy and one daughter, Flora Anderson, died in 1928. Her husband, Daniel, preceded her in death in 1932.
     She was baptized in the Church of Christ on November 15, 1938 and remained a devoted member until her death.
     She leaves to mourn her passing her sons John and Paul, both of Goldendale; Lee of Stevenson; and Gerald of Brea, Ca.; two daughters, Evelyn Saxton and Nellie Ownby, both of Goldendale; 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
     Services were conducted Monday, April 15, 1968, at Knosher Funeral Home with Roger White officiating. Interment was in the Spring Creek cemetery.
     Pallbearers were Andrew Jeter, Art Wickman, Walter Hamilton, Thurman Ward, Cyrus Forry, and Cedric Tebbs.
