AGED ST. PAUL RESIDENT DIES
Nathan Wasson, 84, Succumbs to Long Illness - Services Planned for Tomorrow
Nathan Wasson, 84, one of the oldest residents of the
St. Paul community, died at his home north of there on Road 29 Monday afternoon
at 4 o'clock following an extended illness.
Mr. Wasson was born near Hope in Bartholomew county,
Oct. 30, 1852. On Dec. 19, 1875, he was united in marriage to Anna Mariah
Carter and the couple spent their entire life in the communities of Hope,
Milford and St. Paul where they made a legion of friends. Six children were
born to this union. They are: Mrs. Monta Mount, of Indianapolis; Mrs. Stella
Smiley, of North Dakota; Mrs. Mary Hearndon, of Hope; Mrs. Josie Osting,
of Milroy; Shirley Wasson, at home, and Miss Hazel Wasson, who has preceded
him in death.
Short funeral services will be held at the Thompson funeral
home in St. Paul Wednesday afternoon, after which the body will be taken
to the Hawcreek church for services at 2 o'clock. Burial will be in the cemetery
there.
