NERISSA BELLE KAPP
Nerissa Belle Kapp of Carson died May 9, 1998, at Skyline
Hospital in White Salmon. She was 90.
Mrs. Kapp was born Aug. 21, 1907, in Bickleton, Wash.,
to Hattie (Zumwalt) and Luther Estes. The first-born of eight children, she
attended school in White Salmon and worked as a local telephone operator.
She married Robert "Boots" Henry in 1928 and moved to
Portland, Ore., where they owned a grocery business for 15 years in the St.
John's area. She later worked at Big C stores as a grocery checker.
She married Carl A. Kapp in 1975 and moved to Carson,
where she loved to garden, crochet, and was a world-class cook.
She played golf with the Beacon Rock Ladies Club, played
pinochle and Bunko with a card group in Carson, and was a member of the Stevenson
Eagles.
Preceding her in death were her son, Richard E. Henry,
her first husband, Robert "Boots" Henry who died in 1971, two sisters and
one brother.
Survivors include her husband, Carl Kapp of Carson; son,
Robert Henry of Olympia, Wash.; sisters, Elener Teel of Husum, Wash., Etta
Hill of Spokane, Wash., LaMur Erickson of Centralia, Wash., and June Bleth
of Clatskanie, Ore.; five grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Services were held May 16 at White Salmon Cemetery,
officiated by Derek Krentz. Gardner Funeral Home was in charge of
arrangements.
