NICKEY C. TUBBS
Funeral services for Nickey Charles Tubbs of Underwood
who died Thursday at home will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Gardner Funeral Home
in White Salmon. He was 49.
Mr. Tubbs was born June 16, 1944 in White Salmon to Allene
(Clegg) and William Tubbs. He grew up in the White Salmon area and worked
in the woods since he was 13 years old. He worked for Browning Timber and
other logging companies. He was a member of the Bingen Eagles.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon of Underwood; mother,
Allene Clegg of Home Valley; daughters, Debra Bates of Mill A, Tina Bartley
of Carson; sister, Nita Morrison of South Carolina; brothers, William R.
Tubbs of BZ Corners, Robert W. Tubbs of Carson and Ronnie Jaques of Salem;
grandmother, Zellar Barron of McMinnvile, Ore.; grandfather, Clarence Clegg
of Portland; eight grandchildren.

UNDERWOOD MAN DIES AT 49
Nickey Charles Tubbs died Oct. 7, 1993 at his home in
Underwood. He was 49 years of age.
Mr. Tubbs was born June 16,1944 in White Salmon to Allene
(Clegg) and William Tubbs.
He was raised in the White Salmon area and lived most
of his adult life in Carson.
Mr. Tubbs worked for Browning Timber and other logging
companies since the age of 13 and was known as a legend in logging. He was
also a long-time member of the Bingen Eagle's Club.
Mr. Tubbs is survived by wife, Sharon, Underwood; mothers
Allene Oliver, Home Valley; daughters, Debra Bates, Mill A and Tina Bartley,
Carson; sister, Nita Morrison, S.C., brothers, William Tubbs, BZ Corners,
Wash., Robert Tubbs, Carson and Ronnie Jaques, Salem, Ore.; grandmother,
Zellar Barron, McMinnville, Ore.; grandfather, Clarence Clegg, Portland,
Ore. and 8 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct.
16 at Gardner Funeral Home in White Salmon with committal following at the
White Salmon Cemetery.
The family requests memorial contributions be given to
Hospice Southwest of Vancouver.
