Neta Albertine Weingartner was born at the home of her
parents in Bear Valley in the lower Trout Lake valley on Nov. 25, 1918. She
was the only child of Mr. and Mrs. John Weingartner and had always lived
with her parents in the beautiful Bear valley, a beautiful farm home, with
flowers and garden and beautiful meadows.
She at first attended for a little while the Ashland
School and then attended the grade school in White Salmon where she completed
her grade work.
She took three years of high school in the high school
at Hood River, Ore. She worked and made part of her expenses while attending
the school there.
She took her fourth year of high school work at Camas,
Wash., which she attended last year. From that school she should have graduated
last June 1939 but because of sickness she was compelled to leave school
two months before her graduation. She looked forward to finishing her high
school and had ordered her invitations for her graduation. Her one great
desire was to finish her high school course. She had this desire in common
with so many other young people.
She was always cheerful and pleasant and always wanted
to help everyone. She will be missed by her parents, schoolmates, friends,
and neighbors.
She passed on at the Hood River hospital at 1:30 a.m.
Aug. 29, 1939 at the age of 20 years, 9 months and 4 days. She leaves to
mourn her loss her father and mother and numerous friends and relatives.
Funeral services were held at the family home in Bear
Valley on Thursday at 2 p.m. Rev. Geo. E. Good officiated. Interment in the
Trout Lake Cemetery. Gardner's Funeral Service had charge of the funeral.
