NELLIE IDA SAUTER

     Nellie Ida Sauter, Lyle, died Friday in Hood River at the age of 87.
     Mrs. Sauter was born April 10, 1894, in Toutle to Mr. and Mrs. Silas M. Evans. She came to Lyle in 1917.
     A retired homemaker, Mrs. Sauter was a member of the Columbia Grange, Lyle. She is survived by four sons, Erwin Sauter Jr., Moscow, Idaho, Franklin M. Sauter, Edmonds, Ted W. Sauter, Lyle, and, Richard R. Sauter, Lyle; two daughters, Nellie Sorenson, Lyle, and Mary Ramm, Mt. Hood; one sister, Ellen Bowers, Daly City, Calif.; 22 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
     Funeral services for Mrs. Sauter were held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Gardner Funeral Home in White Salmon with Rev. Sidney Cox officiating. Interment was at Balch Cemetery, Lyle.
