OBITUARY

     The late Nicholas Ward, who passed away at Goldendale, Wash., Wednesday, January 10th, 1917, was a pioneer resident of the Blockhouse section. He was born in the city of Galway, Ireland in 1854, educated in the Jesuit Colleges of Galway and Clongowes. When a young man, he left his native land and traveled to Australia, New Zealand and the United States. He went back once more to the country of his birth and then he traveled through England and France. He then turned his steps towards the land of his adoption and for thirty-seven years was a resident of Klickitat. His wife departed eleven years previously. He leaves to mourn him, six sons, a brother and four nephews, who were all present at his funeral. He was buried in the Goldendale Catholic cemetery, January 13th, 1917.
