"Lyle News"
Robt. Chamberlain received word Wednesday night of the
death of his sister, Mrs. C. Winters at Walla Walla. She had been ill for
some time. The body was brought to White Salmon where the funeral services
were held Sunday from the Gardner Funeral home with Rev. Hall of Goldendale
in charge. Interment was at the White Salmon cemetery beside her son who
was drowned in the Columbia several years ago. She was born at Lyle 54 years
ago.
Those who attended the funeral of Mrs. Lyle Winters from
a distance were, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Chamberlain from Washougal; Mr. and Mrs.
Ernest Correll, Vancouver; Mr. and Mrs. John Spitzenburger of Portland; Mr.
and Mrs. Ormond Hilderbrand and 2 sons, Wasco., Ore.; Mr. and Mrs. Jim
Hilderbrand and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hilderbrand and Mr. and Mrs.
Jim Matthis and daughter from Sunnyside; Mrs. Nettie McCarty and Mr. and
Mrs. Phil Hamley and two children from Amboy, Wash.; Mr. and Mrs. R. Austin
and daughters, Mrs. Yarnell and two sons, Mr. and Mrs. Monte Austin and son,
Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence White and son and daughter from White Salmon; Mrs.
Grace Medler and daughter, Wasco; Mr. and Mrs. Veryel Chamberlain and son
and Miss Vendie Chamberlain and Richard Chamberlain of Washougal.
