NETTIE NORRIS
Nettie Kathern Norris, 92, of White Salmon, died on Thursday,
Feb. 1, 2001, with family at her side.
Born Feb. 6, 1908, in Clear Springs. Mo., to David Holbert
Presser and Margaret (Bradford) Presser. She was the youngest of 11 children.
She married Stanley Wonnell in 1925 and had one daughter.
She later married Robert Norris in 1929 and they had
five children, four daughters and one son. They lived in Missouri and Michigan,
moving to White Salmon in 1953.
Mrs. Norris was known for her generosity. She loved cooking
for family and friends. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, playing cards,
crocheting and crafts. Many will remember her for her beautiful crocheted
afghans.
Mrs. Norris is survived by daughters Norma Krebs, Clara
Taylor and Lucille Albert, all of White Salmon; 13 grandchildren, 24
great-grandchildren, and 13 great, great-grandchildren. She was preceded
in death by her husband; son Robert Eugene; two daughters Viola Block and
Sue Ann Norris; granddaughter Sandra Keck; great- grandson Nathan Brooks;
her parents and her 10 brothers and sister.
Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 5, 2001, at 11
a.m. at Gardner Chapel in White Salmon with Pastor Wes Koester officiating.
Interment was at White Salmon Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Gorge.
Arrangements were handled by Gardner Funeral Home of
White Salmon.
