Monday, the 1st, was a day of sorrow and tragedy, amongst the pioneers of the White Salmon Valley. Mrs. Thomas N. Talbert, after a lingering illness died at her home in White Salmon, at the age of 54 years, and 6 months. She came to this County with her parents in 1877 and has been continuously a resident for past 41 years. She will was born in the Waupaca, Wisconsin. She leaves to mourn her loss besides her husband, 2 sons, 1daughter, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, 3 grandchildren and her father, Dr. C. Billington, of White Salmon and her mother. While the death of Mrs. Talbert was not unexpected, such news always comes as a shock to the community and our fullest sympathy goes out to the bereaved husband, children, parents and sisters. She was a type worthy of a eulogy. She joined the Presbyterian Church in 1885 and has lived a consecrated life. She was married to Mr. Talbert January 1st, 1883; to this union five children were born. Services were held at the Methodist Church in White Salmon Wednesday at 2 P.M.
