MRS. TEUNIS WYERS PASSES; FINAL RITES THURSDAY, JAN. 15
Mrs. Teunis Wyers, one of White Salmon's prominent and
beloved pioneer citizens, passed away early Tuesday morning following an
extended illness. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 15 at 2
p.m. from the Gardner's Funeral Home. Mrs. Wyers had been a semi-invalid
since she suffered a stroke late in May of 1950.
She was born February 7, 1884 at Rosebud, Texas, and
came to White Salmon with her parents, Rudolph and Wilhelmina Lauterbach
in 1893. At the age of 18 she was united in marriage to Teunis Wyers at White
Salmon on March 12, 1902. The Reverend James Duffy, present pastor of the
Congregational church where Olga and Tune Wyers were married over 50 years
ago, will officiate at the Thursday rites. Burial will be made in White Salmon's
I.O.O.F. cemetery.
Survivors include her husband and two daughters, Mrs.
Bernard Pollard and Mrs. Russell Kreps; four brothers, August, William and
John Lauterbach, all of White Salmon and Henry Lauterbach of North Bonneville;
two sisters, Miss Meta Lauterbach and Miss Louise Lauterbach of Portland,
five grandchildren, Mrs. Keith Kayser of Centerville, Mrs. M.J.Hecomovich
of White Salmon, Miss Mary Lou Kreps, now teaching at Walla Walla and Russell
and Oliver Kreps of White Salmon.
