RITES HELD FOR CENTERVILLE MAN
Funeral services for Oscar F. Olson, who was born and
lived all his life at Centerville, were conducted at the Phillips Funeral
Home in Goldendale Tuesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. J.A. Dunn officiating.
Interment followed in the Centerville Grange cemetery.
His survivors include his widow; and three daughters,
Margaret McConnell of Bingen, Betty Dalsanders of Spokane, and Mrs. Elaine
Knox of Goldendale; and two sons, Joseph and William of Centerville.
Olson died Saturday at the Klickitat Valley hospital.

Funeral services for Oscar Frank Olson, who passed away
at the Klickitat Valley Hospital Saturday, April 4, following an extended
illness, were held from the Phillips Funeral Home Tuesday afternoon at 2
o'clock with the Rev. J.A. Dunn officiating.
The deceased was the eldest son of Mary and Hans Peter
Olson and was born at Centerville, Wash., on April 15, 1890. He was united
in marriage to Sophia Anderson in 1912 at Goldendale. To this union in five
children were born. She preceded him in death in 1922. Later he was united
in marriage to a Mariam Simi of Astoria, Ore., and to this union one daughter
was born.
His earlier years were spent in the Centerville area
where he was engaged in farming, later moving to Goldendale.
His eldest son, Howard Frank Olson, preceded him in death
Dec. 27, 1949.
He is survived by his widow, Mariam; two sons, Joseph
and William of Centerville, three daughters, Margaret McConnell, of the Bingen,
Washington, Elaine Knox of Goldendale, and Betty Dalsanders of Spokane, Wash.
Fourteen grandchildren. Also one sister, Emma Konkonen of Centerville, a
half-brother, Edward Halonen of Niagra Falls, N.Y., and two half-sisters,
Celia Cupp and Alice Smith of Endicott, N.Y. Two aunts, Mrs. Minnie Anderson
of Hadlock, and Mrs. Emma Permela of Westport, and one uncle, Frank O. Witikka
of Centerville as well as other relatives and a host of friends.
Interment was made in the Centerville Grange cemetery.
Pallbearers were Joel Abshien, Frank Klockner, Frank Garner, August Jaekel,
John Tobin and Jack Mulligan.
