"Late Local Intelligence Of Town And Country"

     Funeral services were held at Bingen August 31, for Peter Staack, who died August 28 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Walter Kauffman in Bingen, Rev. Roy Jenkins officiating. Mr. Staack was born in Husum, Germany, September 15, 1860, and accompanied his parents to Davenport, Iowa, in 1872. In 1875 they came to the northwest, and his father homesteaded near Laurel, about 30 miles northeast of White Salmon. Mr. Staack married Miss Carrie Carstens in 1900. He is survived by his widow and one daughter.
