PHILLIP L. BEEKS DIES IN THE DALLES
Philip Lowery Beeks, 51, a former resident of the Goldendale
area, died in The Dalles on August 11. His passing followed an illness of
several months duration.
Funeral services for Mr. Beeks will be held Thursday
at 2:00 p.m. from the Pleasant Valley Grange hall. Archie Ward, of Portland,
will conduct the services. Interment will be in the Pleasant Valley cemetery.
Mr. Beeks spent most of his boyhood days in the Goodnoe
Hills area and in Goldendale. He was married at the age of 22. He is survived
by his widow, Vera; and eight children, Vernon, Veva, Lucile, Phillip, Sharan,
James, Norval and Malcolm. Three brothers, Jake, Wesley and Will, and one
sister, Della Davenport, and one grand son, Kenneth Belcher, also survive.

Local Resident Dies -- Phillip L. Beeks, 51, died yesterday morning at the family home at 710 East Third street. Mr. Beeks was born at Goldendale, Wash., on November 12, 1890 and married Vera martin July 12, 1913. He is survived by eight children, all of The Dalles, Mrs. Vera Beldon, Mrs. Lucille Short, Sharon, Vernon, Phillip, James, Norville and Malcolm; three brothers, Jacob of Cliffs, Wash., Wesley of Goldendale and William of Dallesport; one sister, Mrs. Della Davenport of Goldendale; and one grandchild. Services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Pleasant Valley grange hall near Goldendale, Wash. Rev. Archie Word from Portland will conduct the service and interment will take place in the Pleasant Valley cemetery.
